Boston Scientific Launches Charger PTA Balloon Catheter
December 12, 2011—Boston Scientific Corporation (Natick, MA) announced the launch of its Charger percutaneous transluminal angioplasty balloon catheter in the United States.
According to Boston Scientific, the 0.035-inch Charger balloon dilatation catheter is designed for post-stent dilatation as well as conventional balloon angioplasty to open blocked peripheral arteries. It features high rated burst pressures (up to 20 atm for selected sizes), rapid deflation, and a low lesion-entry profile. The Charger device is compatible with a 6-F sheath for 10- X 80-mm balloons and is available in a range of sizes including diameters of 3 to 12 mm and lengths of 20 to 200 mm on 75 or 135 cm shafts.
