The PERT Consortium Launches PRISM Program
October 24, 2025—The PERT Consortium announced the launch of The PRISM Program, an initiative to expand access, collaboration, and excellence across the spectrum of pulmonary embolism (PE) care, science, and outreach.
According to The PERT Consortium, PRISM—Pulmonary Embolism, Research, Improved Care, Standardized Systems, and Measured Outcomes—is a 3-year program that aims to expand and accredit 100 sites worldwide. The program is designed to provide pathways for institutions to engage with The PERT Consortium and its key programs.
The initiative seeks to provide complimentary access to:
- The PERT Consortium PE Center of Excellence accreditation pathways, which is for institutions demonstrating structured best practices and pursuing formal recognition.
- PERC Database Assurance database, which supports quality improvement, outcomes research, and scientific advancement.
- PERT Partners, which connects institutions and industry in shared educational, scientific, and clinical initiatives.
- PERT CERT, which engages first responders as integral participants in the PERT network to strengthen early recognition, triage, and treatment of PE through collaboration and outreach.
As stated in the PERT press release, the program is intended to advance the quality, science, and effectiveness of PE care by integrating research, continuous improvement, and standardized practices that optimize outcomes for every patient.
The PERT Consortium is inviting its industry partners to collaborate and provide financial support to assure the success of The PRISM Program. These partnerships will help the Consortium expand institutional access, advance data-driven research and quality improvement, and strengthen education and outreach initiatives across the international PERT community. The program has already received financial support from Penumbra Inc., noted the press release.
The Consortium advised that in the coming weeks, it will be scheduling meetings with each of its partners to review details of The PRISM Program and explore ways to support and participate in this initiative.
