VentiV Mechanical Thrombectomy System Cleared by FDA

April 1, 2025—VentiV Scientific recently announced the FDA clearance of the VentiV mechanical thrombectomy system for removal of blood clots in the peripheral vasculature.

According to the company, the system includes the new VentiV Pulse platform. Pulse is designed to instantly start, stop, increase, and/or decrease thrombectomy force at the tip, decrease clogging inside the catheter, and reduce blood loss using any currently available aspiration pump, noted VentiV.

The FDA clearance includes 18 large-lumen catheters; the largest size is currently 12F. The devices are designed to solve unmet clinical needs and reduce procedural costs, stated the company.

“I used the VentiV Pulse to remove large clots in testing,” stated Richard Saxon, MD, in commentary shared with Endovascular Today. “The Pulse allowed me to control the force at the tip and remove thrombus with minimal blood loss.”
