Cydar Medical Names Kenneth Hitchner as Chairman

February 14, 2023—Cydar Medical, a global cloud-based software company, announced the appointment of Kenneth Hitchner as Chairman of the Board with immediate effect. Stepping down from the Board are Lord Mervyn Davies of Abersoch (Chairman since January 2017) and Dr. Franz B. Humer (Nonexecutive Director since March 2017).

As described by the company, Ken has more than 30 years of experience in strategic health advisory, mergers and acquisitions, underwriting, and other transactional expertise.

Previous roles include member of the Goldman Sachs Global Management committee and Chairman and CEO of Asia Pacific, excluding Japan, from 2013 to 2019 and Goldman Sachs’ Global Head of Healthcare banking and Global Co-Head of TMT banking. Much of his 28-year career at Goldman Sachs was in the biopharmaceutical and medical device sectors.

Ken was also a carrier-based fighter bomber pilot for the United States Navy. He is currently a Board member of Wuxi Biologics and CStone Pharmaceuticals, senior advisor to Wuxi Apptec, Chairman of HH&L, and senior advisor to venture capital firm Antler.

Cydar Medical uses artificial intelligence technology to augment a clinician’s decision-making and provide an integrated solution for planning, navigation, and review of surgical procedures. Cydar EV Maps is certified Software-as-a-Medical Device with CE Mark approval and FDA 510(k) clearance.

The company noted in the press release that the appointment of Ken Hitchner, collaborations with Medtronic and BrainLab AG, the recent conclusion of a Series A funding round, and the initiation of the ARIA study all align with the company’s growth strategy and vision.
